Illustrator:
Roberta Angaramo
Born in 1974, Roberta attended European Institute of Design in Turin. She started working as an advertising illustrator and trompe l’oeil artist. In 1997, she won the first prize in the UNICEF International Contest “Città di Chioggia” with her book “Notte da Favola”. Her books have been published in Italy,United States, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea,Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland,Greece and Spain. Her illustrations have been shown in several towns in Italy and abroad in important exhibitions such as the International Illustration Exhibition in Sarmede, “I Colori del Sacro”, “Sirenettedi Carta e Soldatini di Inchiostro”, “Antichi Incanti” and the ’’Italian Festival” in Taipei.
Speaking of herself, Roberta says being an illustrator has been her dream. She thinks every child should have a dream, and with faith, the dream will become his or her life. She likes to observe, a fallen leaf, a flying butterfly, a corner in the market…could be her inspiration. She enjoys painting while surrounded by Nature; she also likes to exercise, bike, and swim.
The happiest part of her job is when she imagines children falling asleep holding her book, or when children dream of the bear she painted… These are the most fabulous kind of magic for her! She lives with her husband Daniele and her two cats Pì and Apo.
